SAFARI GAME DRIVES
An African Safari Game drive is like a movie set, but actually, the travel experience is unmatched. Every day, nature has a way of revealing some of its hidden treasures, from the sounds of birds to the roars of Lions. The African plains are some of the best places to spend your Holiday and allow nature to communicate with your soul. The most suitable times are during the dry season, depending on which country or National Park you are visiting. Why the dry season? Animals normally congregate at the few water holes remaining, making it easy to spot them, unlike the wet season when the animals can access water at any point, which at times are not accessible by cars, thus making it difficult to spot the wildlife. Before you decide to travel, it’s best to know the wet and dry seasons of the different locations so its easier for you to plan your trip.
GORILLA TRACKING
Gorilla trekking must be included in one’s bucket list when thinking of coming to Uganda for a safari adventure. Bwindi National Park has about 1000 mountain Gorillas, which can be tracked in 4 Gorilla Tracking locations depending on your place of accommodation. 8 people per group are allowed to visit one gorilla family, and 1 hour is allocated for Gorilla viewing. For those who want to spend longer hours with the mountain Gorillas, can opt for Gorilla Habituation.
BIRD WATCHING
Uganda is arguably the most attractive country in Africa to bird watchers ( tour), not only because of the unusual number of species recorded within its borders but also because it offers easy access to several bird-rich habitats that are difficult to reach elsewhere. Uganda’s remarkable avian diversity-1,008 species recorded in an area similar to that of Great Britain can be attributed to its location at a transitional point between the East African savanna, the West African rainforest. Therefore you want to see or watch a wide range of birds in Uganda for tour enthusiasts, try to visit Entebbe (water and forest birds), Lake Mburo (water and acacia-associated birds), Queen Elizabeth (Over 600 species are recorded), Murchison Falls (the best place in East Africa to see the Papyrus-associated shoe-bill) and Kidepo (over 50 raptors recorded ).
MOUNTAIN CLIMBING
The remarkable landscape is bisected by the Uganda-Congo border which passes through Mt. Stanley the highest peak. The Ugandan Rwenzori is protected by the Rwenzori Mountains National Park and, in Congo by the Virunga National Park.
